So, it all came together. Honestly, there were not a lot of people there… BUT the DJs that played… Daisy O, Valida, TNT and Jun killed it. Everyone played two 30 min sets with Jun jumping on at the end fueled by the scotch and a stomach sans oysters playing a beautiful feel good, get-your-butt-on-the-floor and dance set, everyone played like that, and there was not a laptop-blue face amongst them.

To be honest, I really didn’t know the potential of these guys. But when they all came together, and when they all had themselves in a cut-out form to play with, it felt like the best night your living room ever had… very intimate and super fun.

I was honored to have such a great and talented group kick off what is going to become a monthly DJ AFFAIR COLLECTION party (location TBA).

The goal is to build on the members of the DJ AFFAIR COLLECTION. We started with this crew, and next month we’ll do a whole ‘nother round encouraging the DJs from the last month’s party to bring their replicas down to the next month party until we fill the room with duplicates.

On a mission, no one really knew what I was talking about, ridding around on a green low rider bicycle I pick up my Japanese Sister and we cruse in disguise, Disco Chicken and Disco Donkey together in a summer ending NY NY Brooklyn

The gig I was scheduled to do with Roxy was canceled, I showed to Sway and the place was surrounded by cops. Weed in my pocket, a drink with the bar crew, a little family to me, hello, goodbye, let’s stay in touch I walk out and ask the cops for a ride back to Kate’s house.

Hi with Keedhem a man with mad schemes, we choreograph a walk for the parade and go over the needs of the famed “guitables” or “turntars.”

ON a mission and in front of La Esquina, again. No
matter what town I’m in, the closest Mexican restaurant is always my office.We run in to Shadi one… Mister Perez if you’re nasty, his friend has a bass he offers for the turntar. Suddenly, we’re golden.

Things are in motion, the posters are printed… thinking I had it in me to go out I ride the green bike to my printer an hour before they close, high high heels and purple shinny leggings i watch the djs come one by one and i’m filed with the pleasure of watching my garden grow, the korean puck rockers stare, i see them in the reflection of the window

What do you mean… its somehow not enough I want more what happened to the original idea, i don’t want to stray too far from the origin. I pass out with a bottle of sake while dreams of Kris Kristoferson dance through my head.

then wake at 5:30 with the light bulb. Giant disco ball, giant record player, giant stylus, giant record, giant headphones quickly before i meet the rasta man from the isles a Dj himself at 8:30 south of canal with a pack of big, heavy foam core.

work work work drink margarita drink the end of the day mounted and displayed in a store front on Ludlow. Mika has made costumes I see her work displayed 50 years from now at the Louvre in Paris behind glass windows, but now, it is meant to be worn. It is meant to worn in the art parade. Tear.

Man down, and three new join the crew. We’ve got a bike, a boombox, balloons, margaritas, hangovers, giant disco ball, giant record player, giant stylus, giant record, giant headphones, a mega phone and the guitables and we’re off from Ludlow and Houston to Prince and W. Broadway, the Disco Chicken sing “Happy Birthday” and the “Star spangled Banner” through the mega and only in the speak of the chicken… “BWWWWWWAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!”

Kids on swings, Dominicans on their balcony, tourists shopping at Prada, hipsters and firefighters, moms and dads, cats and dogs, what the fuck is going on, we arrive and there is the family.

The DISCO DONKEY and DISCO CHICKEN have been hard at work riding their matching bikes in the city heat (actually, its been beautiful) taking care of biz.
