I think I’m guilty of having posted flyers for Tony Watson’s parties without ever explaining who he is to me and why I think you should know about his contributions.
Summer 2006 when I was traveling with Alex through Central America and up to LA, we tuned into his radio show Hugh Herra’s h-track. We were in DF Mexico when we heard them first.
Alex and I freaked over his radio shows: Who was this guy? Why had it taken me so long to discover him? And… damn he lives in LA, it must be cool there.
I guess you could say he’s one of the reasons we moved to LA. Since then we’ve become friends, his and my family, and I guess I’m taking a second to introduce him here on his friend DJ Rylo’s radio show Another Nite in the Dub Cove.
Here Tony is selecting tunes and speaking about music with His philosophy and selection is super inspirational. I mean, he made me freak out on Stairway to Heaven again, and I think that says it all.
When you meet Tony, ask him to explain what, “Booooooooooooooooooox” means.
